Case Study: Centralized Management & Systems Security

A large manufacturing company operating in 19 countries needed a better way to manage their mobile devices. Our Services Team created a simple, secure, and scalable solution that worked around the globe.


Customer Challenge

A global automotive supply company with 90 facilities in 19 countries needed a centralized secure mobile device management solution that required minimal interaction from the end users. Not only would the mobile device management solution have to be granular enough to ensure security, but it would also need to scale geographically to manage the mobile devices used by their entire worldwide workforce.


Services Solution

Our Secure Mobility Services Team held a detailed workshop for the customer to improve their management and support staff’s knowledge regarding the capabilities and limitations of mobile device management solutions, as well as establishing corporate policy related to mobile device use.


Using an in-depth infrastructure analysis, the Services Team made recommendations on changes to the customer's infrastructure that would facilitate a successful large-scale roll-out of managed mobile devices.


The Services Team went on to create a demo environment of the chosen mobile device management solution to ensure that the product met the customer’s long-term goals and needs. Once the solution was tested and approved, it was installed in the customer’s data center. Our Services Team worked with the customer to rapidly configure and integrate the solution into their workflow.


After the initial configuration and installation, our Services Team provided additional consultation regarding device management and deployment workflow before turning over management of the solution to the customer.


Business Results

The primary goals of providing seamless integration of device management and systems security with minimal actions from the end user were met. And the support staff’s ability to monitor and manage these devices remotely significantly reduced support calls while dramatically increasing security.


The customer was so pleased with the solution they increased the number of device licenses by almost 50% in the first month, and the number of devices managed continues to grow as new regions enroll their devices in the management system.
